7 Products that Promote Throat and Lung Health

15th Feb 2014

With an ongoing pandemic and disastrous environmental factors affecting our air quality, Maintaining throat and lung health is more important than ever. So we put together a selection of products made in our in-house lab that help support throat and lung health.

  1. 100% Pure Local Raw Wildflower Honey: The sweetness of honey triggers your salivary glands to produce more saliva. This can lubricate your airways, easing your cough. Honey may also reduce inflammation in the bronchial tubes and help break up mucus that is making it hard for you to breathe.
  2. Broad Spectrum Herbal Support: This unique Chinese herbal formula was designed by Applied Botanicals to support bacterial, viral, fungal, and even some parasitic infections in the body. By using the 10 specific Chinese herbs this formula has the ability to kill infection while protecting the gut biome and actually enhance immune function.
  3. Herbal Honey Cough and Throat Syrup: Our cough syrup is made with herbs that have been slow cooked in honey for several hours in order to make a potent and strong extract that support dry, wet, and infectious cough. The formula of this cough syrup is formulated by herbalists with decades of expertise. Made with 100% Pure Raw Wildflower Honey harvested in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles County
  4. Organic Oregano Essential Oil: Oregano is anti-fungal, antiviral and antimicrobial. Adding 3-5 drops in water has a powerful effect on sore throat, and other signs of infection.
  5. Eucalyptus Vapor Breathing Rub: This was designed after our childhood favorite Vicks vapor rub as a non-toxic way to expand the lungs, improve breathing from either internal or external issues that can compromise breathing and lung function.
  6. Organic Licorice Root Tea: Due to their anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, licorice root tea can aid upper respiratory conditions. It can help the body produce healthy mucus—the production of clean, healthy phlegm keeps the respiratory system functioning without old, sticky mucus clogging it.
  7. Snake Plants: The Snake Plant cleans air better than most other indoor plants because of it's ability to absorb excessive amounts of carbon monoxide. They also emit oxygen and filters other toxins from the air such as benzene, xylene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde. We don't currently sell these online, but they are available to purchase at our clinic.

Gentle Reminder: To be “well” does not necessarily mean to be “happy”. The two go great together but they may not always come together, and that is okay. Having a basic routine in place to consistently support our wellness, and physical and mental health can empower us in a time of immense change and uncertainty to find Wellness.
