Applied Botanicals was founded by Brooke Niss, LAC and Mike Niss, LAC as a way to compliment their Acupuncture, East Asian Herbal Medicine, and Functional Medicine Clinic called Universal Family Wellness Clinic. Applied Botanicals products are made locally in Los Angeles in the UFWC Botanical Lab with highest quality, locally and sustainably sourced, toxic-free ingredients.
It all began when Mike and Brooke felt there was a real clinical need to create an herbal formula that was inspired by the well known Gan Mao Ling formula usually used in the early stages of a cold or flu. It was modified specifically to aid chronic immune patterns and auto-immunity, while not damaging to the bodies qi, fluids, and gut flora.
Similar to the use of antibiotics, using anti-microbial and anti-viral herbs can kill healthy gut flora and can leave the body susceptible to yeast, fungus, irritable bowels, bloating, gas and diarrhea.
By adding Reishi mushroom, and cinnamon bark, The Broad Spectrum Herbal Support Formula has the unique ability to both kill bacteria and viruses as well as protecting the gut microbiome.
Since designing and producing The Broad Spectrum Herbal Support, Brooke and Mike and their Botanical Lab Technician Corey Byrnes have gone on to create over 25 different products.
